Do you ever wish you had more self-confidence? In general, in motherhood, in wife life. I’ve been living a life of pretty much zero self-confidence and I’m kind of over it.

I’ve gotten a taste of what it feels like to be a confident woman and I love it! Having a bit of self-confidence enhances everything around me… my mood, the way I parent, how I feel in the dressing room, hanging out with my husband.

I can’t even begin to explain the transformation I’ve experienced in my mind by implementing different things throughout the day that boost my self-confidence.

I wanted to share a few of those things with you today and hopefully empower you to get your own self-confidence in check. Let’s dive in, shall we?

Boost your self-confidence by being kind

One of my favorite things to do is to spread kindness.

I don’t do it for the other person as much as I do it for myself. Which isn’t quite as bad as it sounds.

You see, when I’m feeling like the best version of myself, I am in a better mood and overall a better mom and wife to my family. What a better way to help myself than by helping others in the process, right?!

Find something big you can do to help someone or figure out a few small things you can do to help someone. The best acts of kindness, for me anyway, are things I can do anonymously, but then sit back and watch how the kindness spreads like wildfire through smiles and shocked faces.

I’m telling you… being kind has benefits for everyone involved and ripples like crazy to people you won’t ever come in contact with.

Self-confidence is found in the way you carry yourself

This one is hard for me to do on a regular basis because I’m a sloucher at heart… ha!

But when I’m in a crowd and starting to feel lost, nervous, or insecure, I simply stand up tall – and instantly I’m reminded of the confidence I have in Jesus and who He says I am.

God gave us a spirit of power.

Through Him you can be confident and stand tall and be powerful.

Only 10 pages a day to increase my self-confidence? Sign me up!

This has been amazing for my self-confidence because I’m choosing to read just 10 pages of a self-development book each day!

Can you imagine what reading 10 pages of a book that is focused on making you a better person every single day could do for you after one month??

What about six months??

Think… even a year!

That’s over 3,500 pages of words that are meant to inspire and empower you to be a better version of YOU! Commit to this and I am sure finding your confidence won’t be too difficult anymore.

Connecting your self-confidence to the environment around you

Marie Kondo came into my life about a month ago.

It’s been amazing for my self-esteem as a stay at home mama, but also for my self-confidence because I walk around and feel accomplished.

I feel like my life is put together because there aren’t stacks of school papers everywhere and toys thrown all over the place.

If decluttering and organizing is hard for you, like it is for me, watch ONE episode of Tidying Up with Marie Kondo on Netflix and you’ll be motivated like you’ve never been motivated before. Trust me.

The selfie-confidence you need in your life

I’ve never been a “selfie” girl until this year, and that’s only because I made my word for 2019 “BOLD”, so I just kind of do it even though I still get super nervous about posting them.

But I’ve realized that the more I post, and the more I put filters on those posts haha, the more I look at myself and see things that I like, which almost effortlessly boosts my confidence.

Even if you don’t post them publically, (I totally have a secret Instagram account for my goals… you should do that!), just start taking selfies and see what happens to your self-confidence!

Accomplish small goals and attract more self-confidence

Going back to feeling accomplished, the best way to gain a little confidence in your life is by getting a bunch of small wins under your belt!

Take a few minutes before bed (or first thing, if you’re a morning person) and write out three small goals for the next day.

Some ideas to consider are:

  • Complete a full load of laundry from start to finish
  • Start the day with a healthy breakfast
  • Read 10 pages of a self-development book
  • Make all of the beds in the house
  • Read a devotional and then journal about it

When you accomplish the three goals you’ve set, cross them off, and flipping celebrate that mess!

This is where your self-confidence will skyrocket because you’ll feel good about something you’ve done to make your life a little better!

Speak life into your self-confidence

Learning to speak words of life to yourself and others is crucial to living a confident life.

Words of life are words that lift up, not push down. They are words that encourage, words that comfort, and words that introduce a spirit of hope and love.

When you are a mom and a wife who speaks words such as these over yourself and your family, you are a mom and a wife who is confident in who she is in Jesus.

The confidence overflows because you are choosing to speak to uplift and not tear down. You are truly being a light to others and that light radiates off of you in the form of self-confidence.

Am I the best at doing these things consistently? No.

Do I strive to be a better version of me on a daily basis? Yes.

Even if I only focus on one of these things at a time, it still boosts my confidence like crazy.

I challenge you to choose one and focus on it for the next 21 days. Why 21? Because that’s about how long it takes to form a habit and if you can form a habit of speaking words of life, keeping a tidy home, or spreading kindness, then you can stack other confidence-boosting habits on top of that the next month, and the next, and the next until you’re a walking ad for self-confidence and begin to inspire others to find their confidence too!
