These terms apply to anyone who books a Single Mention, Full Feature, or Founding Four placement (each, a "Placement") with Homeschool Ish, operated by Shela Yount ("I," "me," "Homeschool Ish"). By booking and paying for a Placement, you ("Sponsor") agree to the terms below.

What you're purchasing

A Placement is a feature of your resource, product, or brand across the channel(s) included in your selected tier, for the duration described. Placements are editorial features written in the voice and style of Homeschool Ish, not display advertising you control.

No guaranteed results

Homeschool Ish does not guarantee specific results, including but not limited to clicks, sign-ups, downloads, sales, or follower growth, from any Placement. Audience engagement varies issue to issue and is outside my control. Reported audience numbers reflect combined reach across email, Substack, and Facebook, not unique individuals, and are estimates based on current subscriber and member counts.

Editorial control

All written content, captions, and placement decisions are at my sole discretion. Sponsors may submit a description and requested talking points, and I'll do my best to reflect them accurately, but final wording, formatting, and placement within an issue belong to Homeschool Ish.

Right to decline or remove

I reserve the right to decline, postpone, or remove any Placement, at any time, if I determine the resource is not a fit for the Homeschool Ish audience or violates these terms. If a Placement is declined before it runs, the Sponsor will be offered a refund or reschedule at my discretion.

Payment and refunds

☑️ Payment is due in full at the time of booking.

☑️ One-time Placements (Single Mention, Full Feature) are non-refundable once the Placement has run.

☑️ Founding Four is billed on a recurring monthly basis and may be canceled at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period. Cancellations do not receive a prorated refund for the current period. Cancellations must be made at least 5 days PRIOR to payment for that month to be guaranteed for no future charges.

☑️ If a Sponsor cancels a booked Placement before it runs, refund eligibility is at my discretion and may depend on how much preparation has already gone into the feature. Cancellations requested within 5 days of going live will not be refunded.

Scheduling

Requested placement dates are not guaranteed and are subject to availability. I will confirm a scheduled date once your booking is finalized. Founding Four seats are limited to 4 at any time; if all seats are filled, Sponsors may be added to a waitlist and will be contacted in order if a seat opens.

Sponsor responsibilities

By submitting a resource for Placement, the Sponsor confirms that:

☑️ They own or have the legal right to share the submitted resource, images, and description;

☑️ The resource does not infringe on any third party's copyright, trademark, or other rights;

☑️ The resource is accurately described and appropriate for a homeschool family audience, including children.

Sponsors agree to indemnify and hold Homeschool Ish harmless from any claims arising from the content they submit.

FTC disclosure

All Placements are paid partnerships and will be disclosed as such (for example, "sponsored" or "partner feature"), in accordance with FTC guidelines. This disclosure will appear on every Placement and cannot be removed or hidden at Sponsor request.

Limitation of liability

Homeschool Ish's total liability for any claim related to a Placement is limited to the amount paid for that Placement. Homeschool Ish is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or business opportunities, arising from a Placement.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued booking of Placements after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Homeschool Ish and shelayount.com are operated by Shela Yount. These terms apply to sponsor placements only and are separate from any general site terms of use or privacy policy. Violating these terms will result in removal from the membership and termination of your account at shelayount.com for all future purposes in perpetuity.
